2nd Kings 3:15- 17
“Now bring me a musician. As the musician played, the hand of the LORD rested on Elisha, so he said, "This is what the LORD says: 'Fill this valley with trench after trench (ditch after ditch)!' This is what the LORD says: 'Though you won't see wind or storm, nevertheless that river will overflow with water so that you, your cattle, and your livestock may drink."
Sometimes God will instruct us to do something out of the ordinary (or let’s say unusual for us).
He does this for two reasons:
-
To prove our faith
-
To prove to us His power
In this case, God instructed them to dig ditches! This is saying to us that we shouldn’t look for confirmation of His power at work every time we decide to obey Him.
We are to simply obey and do what He tells us to do to get out of our error and dilemmas, to get us out of STAGNATION! When God tells us to do something that will prepare us for a blessing, there is a reason why. He wants to fulfill His plan for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11)
Summary:
It would behoove us to settle down, put our ambition under His Divine leadership, overcome our insecurities and be obedient and follow His instructions (no matter how odd or uncomfortable they may be to us) to prepare for our blessings in abundance; which is a light thing to Him!
2nd Kings 3:18
“This is a light thing in the sight of the LORD. He will also give the Moabites into your hand.”
God wants to do the extraordinary in our lives … not the usual.
“So start Digging Ditches!”
Digging ditches is hard work, but He promises to fill all of them with more than we need. So “Dig the Ditches”
Life Experience Exercise:

2) Write a personal Affirmation to follow His leadership and plan no matter how different it seems to you or others.
Six ways to get and stay Active
5. Build up to it.
Any physical activity is better than none, so start where you can and gradually increase the amount. The Government recommends 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity on most days of the week. Do not worry if that sounds like a lot! It does not have to be done all at once. Try breaking this into three 10-minute slots. A few minutes of activity here and there can really add up.
6. Have fun! Try different activities to find the ones you really enjoy.
